Privacy Policy

HolidayTexts is built parent-first. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control parents have โ€” including for our SMS/MMS messaging.

1. Who we are

HolidayTexts.com (โ€œHolidayTexts,โ€ โ€œwe,โ€ โ€œusโ€) operates a parent-authorized messaging service that lets children exchange personalized messages with holiday characters by text, email, and (coming soon) postal mail. The parent or guardian is the account holder and controls the experience.

2. Information we collect

  • Parent account information โ€” name, email, password, and (if you enable text messaging) mobile phone number.
  • Child profile details you provide โ€” first name, age, and the โ€œmagical detailsโ€ a parent chooses to add (e.g., a pet's name, a wish, favorite things). Parents decide what to share; please share only what's needed for the magic.
  • Message content โ€” the messages exchanged, so we can deliver personalized, parent-reviewable conversations.
  • SMS/MMS delivery information โ€” mobile number, carrier, opt-in/opt-out status, and delivery receipts needed to send texts and honor STOP requests.
  • Device & usage data โ€” basic technical data (e.g., browser type, general location, pages viewed) to keep the service secure and working.
  • Billing information โ€” handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.

3. How we use information

  • To create and deliver personalized character messages your child will love.
  • To let parents review, approve, pause, or manage conversations.
  • To operate the SMS/MMS program, send messages you've opted into, and process STOP/HELP requests.
  • To provide support, process payments, and keep accounts secure.
  • To improve the service and develop new characters and features.

We do not use children's information to serve behavioral or targeted advertising.

4. Children's privacy (COPPA)

HolidayTexts is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. The parent is the account holder, provides verifiable consent for any information about their child, and can review or delete that information at any time. We collect a child's information only as directed by the parent and only to provide the service. Parents may withdraw consent and delete their child's profile from the parent dashboard or by contacting us.

5. SMS/MMS messaging & your mobile data

If you enable text messaging, the following applies in addition to the program terms below:

  • Program description. HolidayTexts.com is a parent-authorized, two-way messaging program that delivers personalized SMS (text) and MMS (picture/multimedia) messages from holiday characters (e.g., Santa, Rudolph, the Easter Bunny) to a child under the supervision of the enrolling parent or guardian.
  • How to opt in. The account-holding parent or guardian opts in during signup by providing the mobile number and agreeing to these terms. By opting in you confirm you are the account holder or authorized user of that number and are 18 or older.
  • Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on the characters, channels, and settings you choose (for example, seasonal check-ins and replies you request). Recurring messages may be sent.
  • Cost. Message and data rates may apply. HolidayTexts does not charge for the messages themselves, but your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates apply per your plan.
  • MMS specifics. Some messages are MMS and may include images or other media. If your device or plan does not support MMS, you may instead receive an SMS, possibly with a link to view the content.
  • HELP. For help, text HELP to 00000, or email support@holidaytexts.com.
  • STOP / opt-out. To cancel at any time, text STOP to 00000. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further messages to that number. You can also manage or pause messaging from your parent dashboard.
  • Carriers. Supported carriers include major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier's transmission and is not guaranteed.
  • Privacy of opt-in data. Mobile opt-in information and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes, and we do not sell this information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

  • Service providers โ€” e.g., our SMS/MMS messaging aggregator, email delivery provider, hosting, and payment processor, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • Legal & safety โ€” when required by law or to protect the safety of children, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers โ€” if HolidayTexts is involved in a merger or acquisition, with continued protection of your data.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share mobile opt-in data for third-party marketing.

7. Data retention & security

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices & rights

  • Access, update, or delete your account and your child's profile from the parent dashboard.
  • Stop text messages anytime by replying STOP; get help with HELP.
  • Request access to or deletion of personal information by emailing support@holidaytexts.com.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand basic usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new effective date here and, for material changes, notify the account-holding parent.
